Dr. Weidman Presented Physician Recognition Award

November 15, 2007, Low Moor, VA – Dr. Clare Weidman, an orthopedic surgeon at Alleghany Regional Hospital, recently received the hospital’s Physician Recognition Award. Dr. Weidman received the most nominations from the staff for the Physician Recognition Award, with comments including:

“Throughout his years of service, Dr. Weidman has exemplified dedication, compassion, kindness, and respectfulness while providing quality orthopaedic care.  His demeanor and his effort to always do his best, and what is best, should be what all healthcare workers aspire to.  He is an asset to this hospital and community.” 

“Dr. Weidman is not only the most compassionate doctor I’ve ever met; he is the most compassionate person. I have the honor of working with him in the OR on a daily basis and I can honestly say that I look forward to coming to work to see his smiling face.  He is always putting the needs of his patients, family and staff above his own.  Dr. Weidman is always a sounding board for whatever concerns we have but can always make us feel better by giving positive feedback and ideas.  I personally feel blessed to have him in my life.  He has helped me in many ways along with patients.”

“Dr. Weidman prays with his patients before surgery.  He is always cheerful and shares hugs before surgery.  Dr. Weidman is always ready to work.  Every one of his patients is given the utmost respect and he takes his time with every patient.  He talks ill of no one.  Dr. Weidman is very flexible with the operating room staff.  He listens to all of our concerns and takes time with each of member of the OR team.  Dr. Weidman’s work speaks for itself.  He has the respect of the entire staff and his patients.  Patient comments:  “He is a fine man”, that statement says it all!”

“I have worked for Dr. Weidman in the OR.  He is always friendly and never complains.  He is a very good doctor and surgeon.  When we are on call with him he always thanks everybody for coming in.  I am grateful and thankful for him and his family, all are very good people.  I feel very privileged to have him in our community!”
 
The idea for a Physician Recognition Award initially came from an advisory committee from the hospital operating room. This committee felt that it would be good to recognize physicians who provide exceptional services to their patients, families and staff.  All physicians who provide services at Alleghany Regional Hospital are eligible for this award which is presented on a quarterly basis.  Nominations from the staff for the Physician Recognition Award are taken by the Employee Advisory Group who then appoints a volunteer nominating committee to review the nominations.
